![]() ![]() So far, it looks like you can't get there from here. The OpenOffice sites don't mention it all (again, as far as I can find). OpenOffice uses HSQL, as you posted, but the HSQLDB site itself only references a single attempt by one of their Devs to create an ODBC driver, which isn't even at first Alpha stage as far as I can find. I am also looking for ADO or ODBC connectivity TO an OpenOffice Base (ver 3.x) database FROM other apps. Unfortunately that just repeats more information about connecting FROM OpenOfice Base TO other databases. Most of the Form wizard options are not critical and can be safely ignored, however make sure to check the layout section and Step 6 in the wizard to decide if you want the form to be read-only. This example builds a form from the ID, Name, and Title fields. Alternatively you can on the pencil icon to edit the form. Your form can be laid out however you choose and display only the information you select. Pro Account To open and edit a form in your Pro account, you select the long information bar again just like selecting your folder. Take a look at - Base New Driver tutorial. To open and edit a form in your Free or Essential account, click anywhere on the form and it will load up the form builder. It allows you to access data on an external database of your choice (for instance MySQL, PostgreSQL, and many others), plus bundles the HSQLDB database engine, this way allowing you to kick-start with your own database. Starting as mere database access functionality of the other applications, Base has, with 2, evolved to an own database application.
